Oftentimes we can seek out solutions from modern focused vendors, while other times we create the solution in house.

Building Science is the practice of creating a home, from the dirt to the roof, that uses science-based principles to guide every step. We apply the study of Building Science to every decision from minute details to major assemblies. Consider this – If you’ve ever been to the beach, you know that water will wick up through sand. Rather than following the inertia of the familiar used by most OKC builders and placing your homes slab on sand, we follow the proven Building Science approach of laying 3/4″ stone as a capillary break, then installing a vapor retarding membrane, then laying down the concrete slab. Not to mention the proper use of rebar in the slab. We believe that meeting code, as most builders do, is the equivalent of getting a 70 on your exam. It is not superior construction, or excellent construction. Meeting code is bare minimum. We far exceed code requirements.
Another example. Almost every home in central Oklahoma begins by digging a trench to pour the footers within. These means the footer is in direct contact with the earth, all the way around and under the footer. The earth, several inches below the topsoil, is cold and damp. Pick up a stone paver in your yard and note the moisture underneath. Our footers incorporate another layer of a vapor retarder to isolate the concrete from the damp and cold conditions of the soil. This creates an interior that is more controlled, more comfortable, and dry. A true waterproof basement can be achieved, even in Oklahoma.
Building Science focuses on controlling 4 elements: Water (bulk), Air, Vapor, and Thermal. Water is the most damaging element to homes across the country. Designing wall, roof, and foundation assemblies to control water and the other 3 elements is how we create a home that will last, while providing maximum comfort and resiliency.
Our 20+ year history of remodeling provided an education in how to NOT build homes that no amount of new construction can match. With very few exceptions, almost every shower we have removed that was built with a rubber liner (which meets code) had mold in the walls – above and often below the rubber liner. We have also learned that in most cases, the materials selected by a builder may have not been the only problem, but the installation manner in which they put the material in can lead to major issues.
Project Management begins immediately after contracting with us. Having designed and built successful six-figure kitchens and baths for well over a decade is possible only through tight project management principles. We know when to place orders, when decisions need to be made, and how to schedule trades to keep a project running. There are always unexpected bumps along the way, but our tight project management controls allow us to anticipate changes and minimize their disruptions.
Long before site work begins on your land, we want to build the entire home in one of our three CAD programs. Completing this CAD work in-house allows for tighter and faster controls over each element of the design. WIth the added ability to open walls or provide cutaway interior and section views, we can communicate every fine detail to our build team. This means you will see what we are building, before we build it, as will everyone on the team, resulting in a better build with less anxiety and drama.
Once the build commences, our Project Management system controls everything. Daily and weekly schedules, shipping and material procurement, change orders, and the chronological sequence of the build is tightly controlled to produce the finest results in a home.

An added benefit to reduce the problems associated with many design firms, they are construction professionals that just happen to be licensed designers. They will spell out the locations of fixtures and the correct wiring requirements for ovens and lighting. All construction work will be verified that it meets our standards rather than trusting a tradesperson. See Before We Start
Utilizing 3 state of the art CAD systems, full color 3-D renders of your new home are developed in house, thereby eliminating uncertainties while confirming designs. While floorplanning a room, and the entire home plan, these renders will provide you peace of mind knowing what each space will look like before we begin the work. Precision results in both the estimating process and fieldwork is ensured as everyone will be on the same page. And you will appreciate the level of detail we include in these renders – even if you don’t think like an engineer or accountant, you’ll be glad to know we do. Designing a new home without these renders is like driving at night with no headlights. You can see bits and pieces – but the road ahead may be bumpy.
