Design is more than picking colors and lights. The entire space, both exterior and interior, is created with a focus on: Balance, Alignment, Contrast, Repetition, Proportion, Harmony, Movement and Blank Spaces. These fundamental elements are woven into the site lines of your property and the homes placement to create an architecturally pleasing residence.
Our experience in High End Luxury Kitchen, Bath, and Interior Design + Build is unparalleled in the OKC metro area. Some designs, such as Modern Design, demand much tighter tolerances with very precise attention to details. With the focus on minimalistic spaces, every detail must be designed and executed to perfection – you will see it all. We also believe in incorporating uncommon materials. The use of steel, glass, or stronger building elements, contrasted with blending softer and more natural materials into the design. Oftentimes we can seek out solutions from design-inspired vendors, while other times we create the solution in house.
Building Science focuses on controlling 4 elements: Water (bulk), Air, Water Vapor, and Thermal. Water is the most damaging element to homes across the country. Controlling this is one of our core foundations when redesigning a home. Creating walls, roofs, and other assemblies to control water and the other 3 elements is how we build a home that will last, while providing maximum comfort, control, and resiliency.
Our 20+ year history of remodeling provided an education in how to NOT build homes that no amount of new construction can match. With very few exceptions, almost every shower we have removed that was built with a rubber liner (which meets code) had mold in the walls – above and often below the rubber liner. We have also learned that in most cases, the materials selected by a builder may not have been the only problem, but the manner in which the material was installed can lead to major issues.
While replacing siding on a home, wrapping the entire perimeter of the home with rigid insulation creates absolutely the most comfortable and controllable interior climate. Followed by a proven rain screen system to prevent water from getting into the walls. These improvements, coupled with HVAC modifications such as placing duct work in the conditioned space, and the addition of dehumidifier systems, creates a home that is less expensive to cool, while being quieter and more enjoyable year round.
Project Management begins immediately after contracting with us. Having designed and built successful six-figure kitchens and baths for well over a decade is possible only through tight project management principles. We know when decisions need to be made, how to schedule trades, and how to prevent disruptions in order to keep a project running. There are always unexpected bumps along the way, but our tight project management controls allow us to anticipate changes and minimize their impact.
Long before site work begins on your home, we create the entire home in one of our CAD system. Completing this CAD work in-house allows for tighter and faster controls over each element of the design. With the added ability to open walls or provide cutaway interior and section views, we can communicate every minute detail to our build team. This means you will see what we are building, before we build it, as will everyone on the team, resulting in a better build with less anxiety and drama.
Once the build commences, our Project Management system controls everything. Daily and weekly schedules, shipping and material procurement, change orders, and the chronological sequence of the build is tightly controlled to produce the finest results in a home.
